Trevor had his 4 month check-up on Thursday and passed with flying colors. He tipped the scales at 17 lbs. 2 oz. which the doctor said was still quite good considering that he was cutting teeth, had a cold and started drinking from bottles at daycare. He is also 25 1/4 in. long. He is just a growing boy.
Here are a few recent pictures of Mr. T. The first shows him posing with his super-cousin Jackson, showing off his classy AC/DC Angus tie. The second is with mommy in the kitchen.

Happy 4th Month!
My Lovey is four months old today. It is remarkable how time seems to fly by, especially since I have started back at work. It continues to amaze me how much Trevor grows and changes on a daily basis. He is now able to grab things out of our hands. He has even gone after food I am eating! It seems like his nose is ALWAYS running. (See picture above. You can just start to see his two teeth on the bottom.) And drool is present on his chin and clothes for 95% of the day. He loves the exersaucer, and staring at the windsocks moving about at daycare. He is quite the popular baby thanks to his cousin. We are greeted every morning with joyful shouts of "Baby Trevor is here! Baby Trevor is here!" not only from Jackson, but the other friends in the room as well. It is wonderful seeing Trevor respond to Jackson. He just loves watching his "best friend". We couldn't ask for a better role model for Trevor.
Trevor was quite wiggly for this month's photo shoot in the crib. He kept trying to hunch himself into a sitting position, and was subsequently falling over onto his left side. He was pretty happy through the whole thing. Better than the teething experience of last month.

How You Doin'?
Here are a couple pictures from a recent photo shoot. I just have to add that the lady had me lay Trevor down on his side, and the pose above is what he came up with. I almost peed my pants when it we were viewing it. Now I may need to reconsider getting the shirt that reads "Lock Up Your Daughters". Trevor, you little stud muffin...
2 Weeks Down
Well Trevor and I have survived his first two weeks at day care. After coming down with a cold just a mere two days after starting daycare, he spent last Wednesday at home with me, and Thursday with my mom. It was nice to be able to cuddle him when he wasn't feeling so hot. It was a lot to take in all at once: a new daycare without mom, having to use bottles to eat, coming down with a cold and pushing two teeth out. I am fortunate that the day care is only a two minute car ride from work. I am able to pop over and see/feed him on my lunch break. It makes my day go that much faster.
I surprisingly don't have trouble leaving him at daycare. Once my day starts at school I am so busy and overwhelmed. I don't have much time to miss him. It certainly feels like I have to start all over with my students to review routines and procedures, just like at the beginning of the school year. I need to build up our sense of community and teamwork. The end of the year can be so difficult. They know that school is coming to an end, and the excitement builds at an alarming speed. Let's just say that between school and Trevor, I am exhausted. It sure makes me appreciative of the time that I am able to spend with my Lovey.
Here are a few pictures I've been meaning to get up on here. The first is a picture of Trevor and his cousin Jackson in the bath after celebrating mommy's first Mother's Day. He just adores his big cousin! Trevor's new favorite trick is to grab the owl (that has Velcro attaching it to the arch around his bouncer), and the rip it off. He loves to grab and pull on it over, and over, and over, and over again, hollering his battle cry all the while. He has also tried out his new comfy high chair.

First Days!
Today was Trevor's first full day at daycare, & my first day back to teaching. I was a big girl and didn't cry this morning as I left Trevor for the longest period to date. He had a little bit more of a difficult time as he is still cutting teeth. I was able to go over on my lunch and feed him and give him a little medicine to help with his discomfort. I left work promptly at 3 pm and made it back to pick up my little guy. I sure did miss him!
After a long day at work, Trevor and Daddy kicked back and enjoyed a little B-ball game on tv.

Poor Baby! - Update
Well, in addition to our combined battle against thrush, Trevor has now begun to cut his first tooth. I noticed that the gums on the bottom right side of his mouth felt pretty sharp, like a little razor. Sure enough that area is inflamed and the tooth is poking out a little. Poor baby! Not only does he have to start daycare this week, but he has to start it while teething. He has been pretty crabby and started making this lovely bobcat-scream sound more and more these days. He woke up a few time last night. I hope tonight goes better. It's going to be a long week back at school.
Update:
After posting the above message yesterday, I noticed today that a second tooth has begun to make an appearance right next to the first. Lets just say that Trevor is not a happy camper.
